Īxiom initially announced that one crew member would be selected via Who Wants to Be an Astronaut?, a reality television series to be produced by Discovery Channel. The two Mission Specialists were Ali AlQarni and Rayyanah Barnawi of the Saudi Space Commission. The crew included former NASA Astronaut Peggy Whitson as mission commander and John Shoffner as pilot. Īx-2 was the second Axiom mission after Axiom Mission 1 in April 2022 and the third private crewed SpaceX Dragon mission. Ax-2 was launched on on a SpaceX Falcon 9, and successfully docked on 22 May. Only one weapon stands out as being the "best" via common census, this is the Flak gun due to a bug associated with the weapon where the explosion radius of the flak is larger than the distance from an enemies spacecraft to its shield, effectivly allowing the weapon to ignore shields.Axiom Mission 2 (or Ax-2) was a private crewed spaceflight to the International Space Station (ISS), operated by Axiom Space. All weapons are viable provided they are used with some strategy and the rest of the spacecraft is properly upgraded. Kinetic weapons have a constant effectiveness and do not require any power at all, they do not benefit from routing more power to their systems. Energy weapons require energy and benefit from more power being routed to the weapon system. There are two main classes of weapons that can be equipped, Kinetic weapons and Energy weapons. All engines have 3 statistics, Armour/Health, Speed, and Radiation Protection. The engines of the spacecraft are essential to surviving and continuing with missions, if both engines are knocked out or receive no power then the spacecraft does not move and has its evasion stat changed to 0 regardless of pilot level. The gun turrets are self explanatory, they shoot the weapon that was equipped at home base provided they are operated by a crew member, the accuracy of the weapon system is dependent on the crew members gun skill. Nine total stations for a crew of 6 (or 7 if chosen in settings). There are four gun stations, a comm station, security station, captain station, engineering station, and a tractor beam station. There are several Crew Stations on your Spacecraft, more station than there are crew which is why it is vital to micromanage the location of your crew members for the highest efficiency. Each system gains more efficiency the more power it has, Weapons gain more damage when power is increased, Shields recharge faster, Engines increase evasion and decrease charge time at warp gates All systems need at least one bar of power in order to work, with the exception of kinetic weapons. The spacecraft has limited power depending on the reactor that the spacecraft has installed, this power can be routed into different subsystems across the ship in order to increase efficiency. The upgrades for the craft are unlocked with higher research and subsequently bought with credits, when the research you have gets close to the required amount the upgrade module will show up. The spacecraft itself can be upgraded with a myriad of upgrades ranging from weapon systems to engines. All gameplay revolves around managing Crew Members, Power distribution, and Piloting the space craft. The Spacecraft is the heart and sole of the Space Crew.
